THE VERB 'SER' to be

The verb SER (to be) is highly irregular in the manner it is conjugated.  It does NOT follow any pattern.  Essentially the only way to remember how it is conjugated is through using it a lot and memorization.

Following is the conjugation of SER (to be)...

(yo) soy I am
(tú) eres you (familiar) are
(usted) es you (formal)are
(él) es he is
(ella) es she is
(nosotros) somos we are
(ustedes) son 'you all' are
(ellos) son they are     (all guys or mixed company)
(ellas) son they are     (girls only!)
