HELPFUL RESOURCES TO UP YOUR GAME

The availability of technological resources to supplement your acquisition of Spanish are countless.  Many of them are available at no cost and others have a price attached to them.

Take some time and peruse the internet to see what might appeal to you.  Following are a few suggestions...

 

QUIZLET

You can set up your own account and create digital flashcards (that also have an audio attachment).  This can be especially helpful in expanding your vocabulary base as well as reviewing terms we have used in the classroom setting (whether face to face or online).

 

CONJUGUEMOS

This site provides a review of vocabulary, grammar and structural components of Spanish in a game type format.  You can set up a personal account for yourself.

 

DREAMING SPANISH

This site is accessed via YouTube.  It is 'headquartered' in Spain and the 'teacher' is a native.  He has a multitude of videos that provide an audio/video methodology of acquiring Spanish.  Start with the basics and progress as your own pace.

 

SPANISH PROFICIENCY EXERCISES

This site is provided through the University of Texas at Austin.  It features a series of video recorded interviews with native Spanish speakers from around the world.  The interviews gradually increase in their complexity allowing the listener to increase their proficiency level.

 

BABBEL

This site offers a free trial period.  Take advantage of it while it lasts and then decide for yourself if you want to continue (with parent permission, of course, because there is money involved after the trial period expires.)  It guides you through improving your proficiency using a scaffolding method of language acquisition where one concept builds upon another (which is how language is acquired)>
